Robert E. "Bob" Hopmann, 79, of Cape Girardeau was born to eternal life Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009.
He was born Feb. 17, 1929, in East St. Louis, Ill.
Bob was beloved husband of Loveda F. Falter Hopmann; loving father to Lyn DeMarinis, Brenda Dunn, John Geggus, Mark Geggus and Dianna Powell; dear grandfather and great-grandfather.
Bob worked at Potter Electric Signal Co. as research and development manager until his retirement in May 1991.

He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
A truly wonderful man, he touched the hearts of many.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Funeral Home in St. Louis.
The funeral will be at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
