WELLINGTON, Ohio -- Robert L. Hecht passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the age of 88.
Bob was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Chester, Illinois, where he resided until moving with his family to Jackson. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1947.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1951. Upon discharge, he was employed by U.S. Fidelity and Guaranty until he retired in 1991 as assistant controller.
Over the years he resided in North Olmsted, Ohio; Towson, Maryland; and Wellington.
During his lifetime, Bob was an avid musician, participating in school bands as well as numerous dance bands and combos. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He was especially proud of his two holes-in-one.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet Lieb; daughters, Renee (Carl) Keith and Lisa Hecht; granddaughters, Jessica (Brian) Clark, Tiffany (Chris) Curren and Brianna Keith; and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Joseph and Vivienne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsa Hecht, and his brother, Roger Hecht.
Private graveside services will be conducted at a future date to be determined.
