STURDIVANT -- Robert "Linus" Hawks, 87, of Sturdivant died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 25, 1912, at Birch Tree, son of Robert and Clara Kuykendall Hawks. He and Naomi Ruth Owens were married May 3, 1936.
Hawks had farmed, worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation, and had operated a service station.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Hawks of Elmore City, Okla.; two daughters, Pat Uebelein of Poplar Bluff, Janice Doll of Paul's Valley, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4:30-8 p.m. today.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance. The Rev. Eldo Eaker will officiate.
