ROBERT H. MELTON

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Robert H. Melton of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Medlock will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Melton, 76, died Monday, Sept. 18, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born April 16, 1919, in Clarkton, son of Ira and Minnie Bond Melton. He and his first wife Dorothy were married May 1, 1937, at Sikeston. She died Aug. 4, 1984. He later married Betty Hadley Jan. 18, 1992, in Sikeston.

Melton was a propane gas distributor and driver 31 years with Home Oil Co. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob Melton of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Flora Phillips of Sikeston; two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.
