MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Robert Earl Green Jr., 84, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at John J. Pershing Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Nov. 28, 1919, in Malden, Mo., son of Robert Earl and Grace Blades Green Sr. He and Jane Painter were married March 12, 1947.
Green was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men's Club, Optimist Club, served as an alderman in Marble Hill, served on the board of public works and was a president of Kiwanis Club in Malden.
He served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a chief master sergeant.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Green III of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Darlene Houchins of Marble Hill; two brothers, John Green of Dutchtown, T.B. Green of Malden; a sister, Ella Hutchcraft of Sedgewickville, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors by Missouri Military Honors Team.
