Funeral service for Robert Anthony Gabler of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Clayton Smith will officiate.
Gabler, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Chicago, son of Anthony J. and Nella Erana Hoeppner. He and Juanita Beard were married Jan. 10, 1956, in Winter Haven, Calif.
Gabler was reared in Pasadena, Calif., and was a graduate of Los Angeles City College.
He worked in quality control at Teledyne Co. in California more than 30 years. He also had worked at Missouri Electric Co. The couple moved back to Cape Girardeau in 1990 from Phoenix, Ariz. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
