SIKESTON, Mo. -- Robert L. Forsythe, 92, of Sikeston died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 8, 1908, in Hickman, Ky., son of George and Celia Medley Forsythe.
He and Marie Ward were married April 18, 1939, in Charleston, Mo.
He was a service representative for National Tex Gas Company for 25 years. He also worked for Midwest Gas Co. in Morehouse, Mo. for several years. He operated a lawn mowing business for 10 years.
He was a member of North Acres General Baptist Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent for 21 years, music director for 12 years and church custodian for 23 years.
He was involved with a nursing home ministry at Sikeston Convalescent Center for 16 years.
Survived include his wife; a son, Robert R. Forsythe of Scott City Mo.; a daughter, Sharon Marchbanks of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Trotter officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
