EAST PRAIRIE -- Robert E. Brooks, 98, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born Sept. 19, 1896, in East Prairie, son of John William Franklin and Ollie Kidd Brooks. He and Bertha May Hardin were married Dec. 7, 1924, in Camden, Tenn. She died April 22, 1986...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Robert E. Brooks, 98, of East Prairie, died Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Sept. 19, 1896, in East Prairie, son of John William Franklin and Ollie Kidd Brooks. He and Bertha May Hardin were married Dec. 7, 1924, in Camden, Tenn. She died April 22, 1986.

Brooks was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Norman and Otis Brooks of East Prairie; two daughters, Reva Parker and LaVern Constant of East Prairie; three sisters, Vivian King of Flint, Mich., Alice Lafferty and Julie Asbell of Ridgely, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, a brother and two sisters.

Shelby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
