Robert was a proud Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972. He served on board the USS Savannah and USS Chukawan.

Robert worked at several places throughout his lifetime. He was known in the area as "Limo Bob," when he worked for Nelson's Limousine Service. He retired from the Scott City School District in early 2021. He loved each of the staff and students as his own family.

Robert loved spending time with loved ones, eating snack cakes, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, planting flowers, cooking from scratch, driving his muscle car, spoiling the grandkids, fishing on the banks on the Mississippi, telling jokes and dancing, especially to old time rock 'n' roll.
