Robert Lee Burris, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert D. and Amy F. Kirk Burris. He and Elsie Burn were married May 21, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ky. She died Dec. 12, 1972...

Robert Lee Burris, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert D. and Amy F. Kirk Burris. He and Elsie Burn were married May 21, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ky. She died Dec. 12, 1972.

Burris was a salesman 37 years with F.B. Wright Co. in Dearborn, Mich., retiring in 1987.

Formerly of McClure, Ill., he was a member of East Cape Baptist Church in McClure, VFW and past member of the Theater Guild.

He was a technician in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include three sisters, Anola Gill Bowerman of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Lucille Eisenman of St. Ignace, Mich., Carole Glasson of Wixom, Mich.; two brothers, Gilbert Burris of Lexington, N.C., and Donald Burris of Fredericktown, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

There is no visitation or service.

A gift of the body has been made to Washington University School of Medicine.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
