EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Robert Morris Bailey Sr. of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The Rev. George White will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
Bailey, 70, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Cairo, Ill., son of Morris S. and Alpha Smoot Bailey. He and Ilean Lydia Carucci were married March 5, 1947.
Bailey had been a self-employed welder. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Bailey Jr. of Gosnell, Ark., James Bailey of East Prairie, Richard Bailey of New Madrid; four daughters, Debra Hudlin of Wichita, Kan., Sherry Stewart of Indianapolis, Ind., Pamela Waldo of New Madrid, and Penny Maxwell of Brownsburg, Ind.
Also surviving is a brother, James Bailey of Warren, Ohio; a sister, Sylvia Bailey of East Prairie; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
