EAST PRAIRIE -- Robert Almo Sams, 65, of East Prairie died Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994, in the East Prairie Nursing Center, of an extended illness.

He was born March 11, 1928 in Cunningham, Ky., son of Elmer and Daisy Sams.

Sams retired in 1981 from the Denna Lamp Co. at Wickliffe, Ky. He was of the Pentecostal denomination.

On Aug. 5, 1980, he married Aline Krauss, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are one daughter, Janice Keefer of Clinton, Ky.; three brothers, Felix Sams of Wickliffe, Johnny Sams, address unknown, and Tommy Sams of Bardwell, Ky.; four sisters, Kathern Davis of Lone Oak, Ky., Louise Frazier and Elrue Hopkins, both of Bardwell, and Betty Tyler of Arlington, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with Burl Britt and Mike Johnson, ministers of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
