Rita Moore

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Rita Beryl Moore, 99, of Perryville died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Perry County, Missouri, daughter of Ken and Sarah Brewer Layton. She and Vincent Everett Moore were married April 22, 1944. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1984.

She was a homemaker. She was a member at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Missouri, and its Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Dr. Stephen) Randag of Chicago and Nancy (Joseph) Chmelir of Satellite Beach, Florida; one son, Carl (Doris) Moore of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m.

She then will be taken to Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
