Ricky Statler

PATTON, Mo. -- Ricky Wayne Statler, 61, of Patton passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 25, 1955, in Bollinger County, Missouri, the son of Dewey Ray and Norma Jean Kirkpatrick Statler.

He and Barbara Faenger were united in marriage March 12, 1977.

Ricky worked in the logging industry as a logger. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed telling stories, spending time with his family and friends and his favorite dog, Gracie.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Statler of Patton; sons, Michael (Lisa) Statler of Leopold, Missouri, Richard (Jamie) Statler of Perryville, Missouri, and Matthew (Amanda) Statler of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Amy (Dustin) Essner of New Hamburg, Missouri; brothers, Mike (Diana) Statler of Sedgewickville, Missouri, and Bob (Sue) Statler of Perryville; and eight grandchildren, Karlee, Karson, Riley, Colton, Katlyn, Kristin, Peyton and Ashlyn.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Kevin Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Post Oak Cemetery near Patton.
