MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ricky Lynn Cook, 61, left this earth Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019. After fighting a long battle with cancer, he went to Heaven to be with his father and brother.
He was born Dec. 1, 1957, in Marble Hill, son of Elbert Dude Sr. and Geraldine Garland Cook. Ricky and Cheryl Ann Davis Cook were united in marriage Jan. 13, 2004.
Ricky retired from Procter & Gamble after working 20 years. He enjoyed being with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. Pepsi and Reese's were two of his favorites. Ricky had an unmatched passion for horses and hunting. He loved the sport of rodeo by watching Tyler and anticipated his grandsons becoming future cowboys.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl, of the home; mother, Geraldine Garland of Marble Hill; two sons, Kyle (Susan) Cook of Glen Allen, Missouri, and Tyler (Shelby) Cook of Marble Hill; daughter, Lotte (Luke) Johnson of Glen Allen; six grandchildren, Shakota (Alex) Robinson, Kaitlyn Bass, Kase Johnson, Zoie Cook, Kolton Johnson and Kade Johnson; two brothers, Junior Elbert (Phyllis) Cook and James Elzie (Brenda) Cook; sister -in-law, Phyllis Cook (the late Jimmie Wayne Cook); and several nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jamie Hovis and Junior Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to American Cancer Society.
