Ricki Brasington, 78, died August 19, 1999 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born May 21, 1921 in LaCross, Wis., daughter of Frank and Marie Holden. She and Edwin Brasington were married September 1, 1945. He died November 18, 1998...

Ricki Brasington, 78, died August 19, 1999 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was born May 21, 1921 in LaCross, Wis., daughter of Frank and Marie Holden. She and Edwin Brasington were married September 1, 1945. He died November 18, 1998.

Over a 40-year period, she was active in the Presbyterian churches of which her husband was the minister. While in Leland, Mis., she was honored with a Life Membership of the Presbyterian Women of the Church.

At the time of her death, she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

A travel agent in Mississippi and Missouri, she retired as manager of AAA Travel in Cape Girardeau in 1986.

As a member of P.E.O. Chapter BI, she served her chapter as President 1993-94.

A resident of Chateau Girardeau, Ricki will be remembered for her many contributions to activities there, particularly for the original Christmas decorations she created yearly since 1991.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Survivors include a son, Leigh Brasington of Alameda, Calif.; a daughter, Anne Waldrup of Pope, Miss.; a foster son, Don Stewart of Odem, Tx.; and a brother, David Holden of Sayer, New York.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau Sunday, August 22, at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Thomas Bass and Rev. Hugh Stewart.

Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau is in charge of the arrangements. Following the service on Sunday, there will be visitation with the family at the church.

Graveside service will be held at Batesville Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, Miss. Dickens Funeral Home of Batesville, Miss., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are to be made to First Presbyterian Church or Chateau Girardeau.
