Rick Youngblood, 56, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully in his sleep Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 30, 1957, in Anna, Ill., to Clarence and Maybell Miller Youngblood. Rick is survived by three very close cousins, Judy (Steve) Dunn of Metropolis, Ill., Sandy Dexter of Anna and Billy Joe Tucker of Cape Girardeau; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends...

Rick Youngblood, 56, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully in his sleep Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 30, 1957, in Anna, Ill., to Clarence and Maybell Miller Youngblood.

Rick is survived by three very close cousins, Judy (Steve) Dunn of Metropolis, Ill., Sandy Dexter of Anna and Billy Joe Tucker of Cape Girardeau; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Youngblood.

Rick worked in the medical field many years, mostly as a CNA.

He was very happy to know he could continue contributing to medicine by donating his body to science through the Genesis program of the Medical Education and Research Institute of Memphis, Tenn.
