STURDIVANT, Mo. -- Rick Overbey, 63, of Sturdivant passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Bloomfield, Missouri, the son of Ora "Kenner" and Helen Williamson Overbey.
Rick worked as a mechanic at VanMatre Buick in Cape Girardeau for 33 years. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting and fishing. His favorite thing was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his fiancee, Karen Mayberry of the home; two sons, Donnie Overbey of Zalma, Missouri, and Brian Overbey of Essex, Missouri; three daughters, Jessica Davis of Sturdivant, Tammy Graham of Chicago and ReDawn Milam of Sturdivant; a brother, Roger Overbey of Bell City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Howard Overbey; and two sons, Ronnie and Ryan Overbey.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charlie Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Cato Cemetery near Arab, Missouri.
