BELL CITY, Mo. -- Rick W. Massey, 57, of Bell City passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 5, 1955, son of Archie E. and Lora E. Hendrix Massey. Rick retired as a heavy-equipment operator with Allied Waste. He was a member of Advance Eagles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. BELL CITY, Mo. -- Rick W. Massey, 57, of Bell City passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 5, 1955, son of Archie E. and Lora E. Hendrix Massey.

Rick retired as a heavy-equipment operator with Allied Waste. He was a member of Advance Eagles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Rick and Sandy Smith were married June 26, 1999, in Zalma, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Derek (Jennifer) Massey of Sikeston, Mo.; a stepson, Billy Senciboy of Oran, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Vicki Straw of Sikeston; a brother, Lonnie Massey of Sedgewickville, Mo.; three sisters, Wynona Massey of Advance, Mo., Patricia Maurer of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Elladean Dunning of Puxico, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
