DONGOLA, Ill. -- Rick "Red" Dirden, 55, of Dongola died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Anna, Ill., son of Jesse and Helen Harvel Dirden. He married Jean Compton.
Dirden was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronnie Dirden of Winter Garden, Fla., Donnie Dirden of Murphysboro, Ill.; a stepson, Scott Compton of Glasgow, Ky.; four brothers, Lester Dirden and Lonnie Harvel of Jonesboro, Ill., Perry Dirden of Anna, Larry Dirden of Murphysboro; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. LeRoy Hunt officiating.
