Richard Ray Whitaker, 59, of Scott City died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 31, 1945, at Cape Girardeau, son of John T. and Lillian Huskey Whitaker. He and Carol Sue Gold were married Aug. 11, 1990, at Gramercy, La.
Whitaker was a truck driver employed by ASA Asphalt, Delta Asphalt and Potashnick. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City. Whitaker was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Todd Gross of Fruitland, Rick Whitaker of Jackson; three daughters, Bonnie Davenport of Harleysville, Penn., Debbie Scherer of Oran, Mo., Janet Cantron of Fruitland; his mother, Lillian Sample of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Judy Young, Linda Cunningham and Nancy De Pauw, all of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob McNabb officiating. Burial will in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
