CAIRO, Ill. -- Richard "Mick" Shoulders, 83, of Collinsville, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Our Lady of the Snows Nursing Home in Belleville, Ill. He was formerly of Cairo.

He was born Aug. 27, 1921, in East St. Louis, Ill., son of Richard and Elizabeth Lohmann Shoulders.

Shoulders was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a retired electrical engineer. He was a member of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and Knights of Columbus.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a sister, Delores Moore of Champaign, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 10 a.m. Friday.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Stout officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge, Ill.
