SIKESTON, Mo. -- Richard Lee "Dick" Sandvos, 64, of Sikeston died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born May 16, 1939, son of the late Hugo E. and Alma Anna Mirgaux Sandvos. On June 10, 1961, he married Mary Lou Layton. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a retired tool crib supervisor with Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Rick Sandvos of Memphis, Tenn., Dave Sandvos of St. Louis, Matt Sandvos of Springfield, Ill., and Mark Sandvos of Columbia, Mo.; a daughter, Stephanie Evans of St. Louis.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; and a brother, David Sandvos of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Church with Father Steve Giljum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
