Richard Henry Ourth, 57, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born May 21, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Leo Lawrence and Helen Louise Diebold Ourth. He and Joyce A. Hobeck were married Aug. 12, 1967, in Cape Girardeau.
Richard graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. For the past five years he had been a church marketing representative with Olan Mills.
He was very active in church and community activities. He was a past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1111 and current member and charter member of Father Marquette Council 11205, 4th Degree member of the Thomas A. Langen Assembly 568 and Past Faithful Navigator. He was active in the Cursillo Movement in local, regional and national levels. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Richard served in Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David M. Ourth of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Amy C. Brandon of Cleveland, Ohio, Jill A. Ourth of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Herbert D. Ourth of Jackson, Mo.; three sisters, Kathleen Keesee of Cape Girardeau, Janet Ivy of Eddyville, Ky., Frances Heuring of Fruitland, Mo.; three granddaughters, Samantha, Jessica and Maggie Brandon, all of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by KC rosary by Father Marquette Council 11205.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing and the Rev. Roger Leveillee officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
