RICHARD MAHY SR.

Funeral for Richard T. Mahy Sr. of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Dr. Clayton Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Mahy, 85, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Cape Girardeau, son of John Roy and Myrtle Hartle Mahy. He and Clara E. McLain were married July 19, 1944, in St. Louis.

Mahy had been a contractor and was assistant fire chief 35 years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and its Men's Club, and was an honorary board member of VIP Industries.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Mahy Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Janet Mahy of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mary Moll of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
