SIKESTON, Mo. -- Richard M. Lucy, 85, formerly of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Westminster Retirement Village in Blytheville, Ark.
He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in LaForge, Mo., son of Fed and Mary Lucy. He and Wilma D. Allen were married July 25, 1964, in Sikeston. She died May 22, 1986.
Lucy had been superintendent of the water department with Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities. He was a former member of Tanner Street Church of God.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Doug Lucy of Muncie, Ind., Dewayne Lucy of Phoenix, Ariz., Gary Lucy of Hendersonville, Ky.; a stepson, Kenneth Cunningham of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Caroline Delplane of Blytheville, Karen Marberry of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Harriett Williamson of Hendersonville; a sister, Pearl Hessling of Dexter, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a stepdaughter.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. to service time today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Revs. Doug Lucy and Carl Addison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites by Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard.
