Richard F. Holekamp Sr., 88, of Jackson died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Monticello House.
He was born Jan. 28, 1918, in St. Louis, son of Julius Robert and Emilie Duboise Holekamp.
Richard was employed by the state of Missouri Department of Conservation 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Society of American Foresters, Soil Conservation Society, Boy Scouts of America, and American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.
After retirement, he traveled extensively and volunteered many years at the American Legion in Jackson and Jackson Senior Center.
He is survived by two sons, Richard F. (Paula G.) Holekamp Jr. of Jackson, Donald W. Holekamp of Nashville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Tammy M. Holekamp of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a grandson, Steven R. (Kim) Holekamp of Guthrie, Okla.; a great-grandson, Wyatt Holekamp; a great-granddaughter, Austin Holekamp, both of Guthrie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and a daughter-in-law.
There will be no visitation, funeral, or memorial service.
