Richard W. Goodman, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1940, to John L. and Mildred Fisher Goodman. He married Fay Marler June 30, 1969. In Richard's younger days he loved to fish and hunt and was the best cook around. He loved to watch the snow fall and take long drives. Richard W. Goodman, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Dec. 17, 1940, to John L. and Mildred Fisher Goodman. He married Fay Marler June 30, 1969.

In Richard's younger days he loved to fish and hunt and was the best cook around. He loved to watch the snow fall and take long drives. He was a roofer in younger years.

His dog was his pride and joy and most important his grandkids. Richard was a loving husband, dad and papa to all and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Fay, of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Richard S. Goodman of Lansing, Mich., Mark B. LaMont of Cape Girardeau, Lester W. Goodman of Marble Hill, Mo.; a daughter, Della M. "Robin" Douglas of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnne Allen of Scott City; a brother, Johnny H. Goodman of Elmo, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Church of God on North Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.

Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
