Richard F. "Dick" Forbey, 91, of Charleston, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Charleston. He was born March 23, 1914, in Charleston, son of the late Arch and Ora Locker Forbey. He and Ella Elizabeth Lane were married and she preceded him in death. Richard F. "Dick" Forbey, 91, of Charleston, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Charleston.

He was born March 23, 1914, in Charleston, son of the late Arch and Ora Locker Forbey. He and Ella Elizabeth Lane were married and she preceded him in death. He later married Doris Frances Taylor Vowels and she preceded him in death.

Forbey was retired from Caproco Inc. in Sikeston, Mo., and was a member of the Charleston VFW Post 4294. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from the military after 42 years.

Survivors include two sons, William F. Forbey of Sikeston and Richard A. Forbey of Charleston; two daughters, Ina Elizabeth Summers of Brook Park, Ohio, and Lana Sue Byford of Corning, Mo.; two sisters, Lucille Hockersmith of Bardwell, Ky., and Maxine Finley of East Prairie, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and three grandsons.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Brewer officiating. Missouri Military Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites at the IOOF Cemetery. Interment will follow.
