Richard D. "Rick" Campbell, 58, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas, son of George E. and Julia L. Stout Campbell. He and Deborah L. Fortney were married June 29, 1973.
Rick served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
He worked for ARI in Jackson as plant controller, retiring in 2004 after 30 years of employment, and then was an accountant at Nordenia USA in Jackson.
He was a volunteer fireman and past treasurer with Millersville Fire Department, and an active member of Zenon River Brigade of Cape Girardeau County. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
One of Rick's favorite pas-times was spending time with his grandson, AJ.
Loving survivors include his wife of 34 years; two daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Garms and their son, AJ Garms of Jackson; Linda Campbell of the home; two foster children, Anthony Budrovich and Avri Newson of the home; his parents of Jackson; a brother, Larry (Michelle) Campbell of St. Peters, Mo.; mother-in-law, Donna Fortney of Aurora, Colo.; and a godchild, Matthew Nielsen of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, infant brother, infant grandchild and father-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
The family requests no flowers or plants, please. If desired, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau.
