EAST PRAIRIE -- William Richard Barksdale, 74, of East Prairie died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 9, 1926, at Deering, son of W.M. and Lular Foster Barksdale. He and Jean Welch Hubbard were married June 6, 1971.
Barksdale retired in 1992 as general manager of Hubco Manufacturing Co. He lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a member of East Prairie Lions Club, and the Ironworkers Local in Paducah, Ky.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Barksdale of St. Louis, Randy Barksdale of Livermore, Calif.; two daughters, Kandi Barksdale of East Prairie; Teresa Jarrett of Paducah; two brothers, Herbert Barksdale of Michigan, Bill Barksdale of Sikeston; three sisters, Marie Mehner and Thelma Treece of Cape Girardeau, Margaret James of Portageville; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
