Born on Aug. 5, 1959, in Richmond, Missouri, he was the son of Glen and Nancy Sue Newsome Ketron. He married Robby Russell on Nov. 27, 1976, and they spent 39 years together...

SCOPUS, Mo. -- Richard Wayne Bailey, 56, of Scopus went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born on Aug. 5, 1959, in Richmond, Missouri, he was the son of Glen and Nancy Sue Newsome Ketron. He married Robby Russell on Nov. 27, 1976, and they spent 39 years together.

Rick entered the U.S. Army on Aug. 16 1977, and served in various places throughout the world for 22 years. He retired from the Army and settled in Scopus. He was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church.

He is survived by his wife; his father, Glen Ketron; two daughters, Crystal Bailey-Streiler (Rafael) of Independence, Missouri, and Tammie Bailey-Scamell (Mike) of Jackson; one son, Luis Gonzalez (Anne); three sisters, Debbie Cringan, Terry Ketron and Regina Penn; two brothers, Jimmy Bailey and Robert Bailey; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Bailey; his mother, Nancy Ketron; and a brother, Ronnie Bailey.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri.

The funeral services will be at noon Friday at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
