DEXTER -- Rex Wellman, 69, of Dexter, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at his home.
He was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Essex, son of Guy and Flossie Frailey Wellman. He and Vera Bess were married Aug. 29, 1947.
Wellman lived at Dexter the past 25 years. He owned and operated an upholstery shop several years before retiring. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Eagles.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Girvin of Wentzville; two sons, Jonathan Wellman of Van Buren, Carl Wellman of Tokyo, Japan; two brothers, Stanley Wellman of Niceville, Fla., Walter Wellman of Biloxi, Miss.; three sisters, Catherine Tito of St. Petersburg, Fla., Rella Hawkins and Joan Wellman of St. Louis, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Gass officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
