REV. WILLIAM METCALF

BERTRAND -- The Rev. William T. "W.T." Metcalf, 70, of Bertrand, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at his home.

He was born June 26, 1925, at Bertrand, son of Lloyd Emmert and Mary Baker Metcalf.

Metcalf was employed by Harris Oil Co. 30 years. He was pastor of First General Baptist Church in New Madrid a number of Years, retiring in 1994. He was a member and former secretary of Charleston IOOF Lodge.

Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Metcalf of Piedmont, Rev. Marshall Metcalf of Risco; two sisters, Ruby Hawes of Eddyville, Ill., and Mary Keel of Granite City, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David Cullen and Bill Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
