The Rev. W. Ralph Kier, 62, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Canton, Ohio, son of James Irwin and Olive E. Giffin Kier. The Rev. W. Ralph Kier, 62, of Sikeston, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 17, 1929, in Canton, Ohio, son of James Irwin and Olive E. Giffin Kier. He and Mary Bingham were married in 1952 at Canton.

Kier attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, and Pittsburgh Xenia Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He had been interim pastor at Hunter Memorial First Presbyterian Church at Sikeston since August 1990. He was also interim pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau in 1986-87.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dwight Kier of State College, Pa.; a daughter, Diane Kier of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas and John Kier of Canton; three sisters, Laura Kier of Quincy, Mass., Lois Reed of Canton, Anna Doll of Ellenton, Fla., and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Memorial Church. The Rev. Phil Barrett will officiate.

A service will also be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Reed Funeral Home in Canton, with burial in North Lawn Cemetery there.
