DEXTER -- Funeral service for the Rev. Samuel D. Seachrist of Dexter will be held at 11 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter. Burial will be in Triplett Cemetery near Dexter.

Seachrist, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 31, 1913, in Bald Knob, Ark., son of John and Rosie Loeta Pence Seachrist.

Seachrist was a retired farmer and a Pentecost minister 55 years. He lived in Boydsville, Ark., most of his life, moving to Dexter in 1992.

Survivors include six sons, Harold Seachrist of Knobel, Ark., Sammy, Ernie, Steven and David Seachrist, all of Lexington, Tenn., Cecil Seachrist of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Loretta Smith of Corning, Ark., Betty Catt of Kirkwood, Rosie Mead of Joplin, Virginia Seachrist of Lexington, Tenn.; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
