The Rev. Richard A. Dotson, 39, 1514 McDonald, died Sunday, June 6, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center. He had been ill several months.
He was born April 21, 1954, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., son of Chalmer and Alma Goodwien Dotson. He and Susan Fulbright were married Aug. 30, 1974, in Cleveland, Tenn.
He was reared in Pompano Beach, Fla. Dotson was minister of Christian education at East Ridge Church of God in Chattanooga, Tenn., prior to coming to Cape Girardeau in September 1985. He had been pastor of Cape Rock Church of God since then. He was a member of State Council Church of God for Missouri.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roderic and Robert Dotson; two daughters, Jenifer and Jillian Dotson, all of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Ronald Dotson of Phoenix, Ariz., Russell Dotson of St. Louis, Randall Dotson of Fort Lauderdale, and a grandson.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Life World Outreach Center. The Revs. David Meadows, John Lemons and Jack Cathcart will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-9 p.m. today.
