SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for the Rev. Ralph Edward Marshall of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo. Victor Marshall and David Dowdy will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston, Mo.
Marshall, 60, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born June 19, 1940, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., son of Steve and Faye McElyea Marshall. He and Marie Poley Jernigan were married March 7, 1987.
Marshall was a Baptist minister 30 years, most recently at Garden Lane Community Baptist Church the past three years. He was also a farmer and construction worker. He was formerly of East Prairie.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tony and Victor Marshall of Sikeston; a daughter, Lesia Brown of Jonesboro, Ark.; three stepsons, G.W. and Jeff Jernigan of East Prairie, Rodney Jernigan of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Jernigan of East Prairie; two sisters, Pauline Robison and Zetta Chessoer of Heber Springs, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
