Rev. Lee Roy Quinn, 72, of Jackson died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Rev. Lee Roy Quinn, 72, of Jackson died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1932, in Bernie, Mo., the son of the late Clifford and Eva Bonner Quinn. He and Mary Lee Quinn were married Dec. 16, 1951 in Piggott, Ark. She survives.

Degrees attained: Associate of Arts, Hannibal-LaGrange College, 1960, Bachelor of Arts, Oklahoma Baptist University, 1962, Master of Divinity, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1967, Master of Religious Education, Southwestern Seminary, 1967. He was ordained at Monticello Baptist Church, Monticello, Mo., in 1959 and began preaching in 1958.

He pastored at Monticello Baptist Church, Monticello, Mo., 1958 to 1960, Knox City Baptist Church, Knox City, Mo., 1959 to 1960, Warwick Baptist Church, Warwick, Okla., 1960 to 1962. Interim Pastor, Irving Baptist Church, Ryan, Okla., 1965 and 1967, Associate Pastor and Minister of Education, Lindenwood Baptist Church, St. Louis, Mo., 1968 to 1969, Pastor Lindenwood Baptist Church, St. Louis, Mo., 1969 to 1979, First Church, Piedmont, Mo., 1979 to 1986, Interim Pastor at Unity Baptist Church near Benton for one year, Interim Pastor at The First Baptist Church in Chaffee, Mo., for one year, Interim Pastor at Blodgett Baptist Church, Blodgett, Mo., Chaplain, The Baptist Home, Ironton, Mo., 1986 to 1998, directed a multiple bus ministry while in St. Louis, five years experience in radio broadcasting with a weekly program. Current employment included part time as funeral director, Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. He was awarded Outstanding Man of the Year at Hannibal-LaGrange College, Hannibal, Mo. Member of the Ministerial Alliance and Lynwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Humes of St. Louis, Mo., Amy Clover of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two brothers, Keith Quinn of O'Fallon, Mo., Larry Quinn of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Louise Stevens of Dexter, Mo., Lois Quinn of Bethany, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steven, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Service will be held at Lynwood Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
