PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Rev. Kenneth E. Grass, 78, of Perryville died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at the Apostle of Charity Residence at St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville.
He was born May 27, 1929, at Perryville, son of Joseph Henry and Ida Minerva McClure Grass.
Grass attended St. Vincent's College in Cape Girardeau and St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville. He was a graduate of Regis College in Toronto, Canada, and Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio.
He was ordained a deacon Oct. 7, 1955, and ordained a priest May 27, 1956, both at St. Mary's of the Barrens. From June 1956 to July 1994 Grass served at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau; St. Mary's of the Barrens, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville; and parishes in St. Louis, Santa Barbara, Calif., and San Antonio.
Survivors include three sisters, Doris Feltman of O'Fallon, Mo., Delores Phillips of Winter Haven, Fla., and Roberta Jerome of Waterloo, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at Apostle of Charity Residence, and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to service time at St. Mary's of the Barrens Church.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's of the Barrens, with the Very Rev. James Swift officiating. Burial will be in Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville.
