GREENVILLE -- The Rev. John Truman Hopkins, 92, of Greenville died Sunday, June 1, 1997, at Advance Nursing Center in Advance.
He was born Nov. 6, 1904, at Zalma, son of John and Ila May Hembree Hopkins. He married Margaret Hendricks, who preceded him in death.
Hopkins was a retired farmer, and a General Baptist minister many years. He was a charter member of Bethel General Baptist Church, and attended Union Hill General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph Hopkins of Shook; two sisters, Willa Schober of Herculaneum, and Mauda Clymer of St. Louis.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Revs. Ray Placher and Eldo Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery at Zalma.
