SIKESTON -- Rev. Jimmie Edmondson, 85, of Sikeston, died Saturday, May 18, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Dec. 2, 1905, in Sikeston, son of James and Arabelle Sanders Edmondson. He was a life-long resident of Sikeston. He was a retired farmer and Baptist minister, and served as pastor of the Blodgett Baptist Church for more than 20 years...

SIKESTON -- Rev. Jimmie Edmondson, 85, of Sikeston, died Saturday, May 18, 1991, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 2, 1905, in Sikeston, son of James and Arabelle Sanders Edmondson.

He was a life-long resident of Sikeston. He was a retired farmer and Baptist minister, and served as pastor of the Blodgett Baptist Church for more than 20 years.

He was a member of the Charleston Baptist Association for more than 50 years.

On July 25, 1925, he married Mae Ellen Goodman at Gideon. She died Feb. 4, 1980.

Survivors are two sons, J.L. "Skeeter" Edmondson, Oran and Billy Joe Edmondson, O'Fallon; one daughter, Dixie Wilson, Sikeston; one sister, Eva Netherland, Monroe, La.; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Three sisters and one brother also preceded him in death.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Blodgett Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Bishop, pastor of Oran Baptist Church and the Rev. Lee Fansler, pastor of the Blodgett Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
