PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. James Edward Wilson, 73, of Perryville, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at St. Mary's Seminary. He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Winnipeg, Canada, son of Joseph Albert and Marjorie Starr Wilson. Wilson entered the novitiate May 30, 1941, and was ordained into the priesthood June 12, 1949...

PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. James Edward Wilson, 73, of Perryville, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at St. Mary's Seminary.

He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Winnipeg, Canada, son of Joseph Albert and Marjorie Starr Wilson.

Wilson entered the novitiate May 30, 1941, and was ordained into the priesthood June 12, 1949.

He attended St. Vincent's College in Cape Girardeau, St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville, Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn., Webster University in St. Louis, and the Institute of Theology and Spirituality in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Wilson taught at St. Vincent's College in Cape Girardeau 13 years, at St. Louis Prep South 20 years, and was associate pastor at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Perryville nine years. He retired in 1994.

Survivors include a brother, Albert Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. John Owen of Dahlonega, Ga.

Friends may call at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal from 5-9 p.m. Monday. The wake will be at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. John Gagnepain officiating. Burial will be in Barrens Cemetery.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
