COBDEN, Ill. -- The Rev. Howard F. Allen, 78, of Cobden, died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Alto Pass, son of Willis and Clara Nichols Allen. He and Helen Louise Linton were married May 10, 1941. She died March 8, 1991. He and Mary Moon Bennett were married Oct. 5, 1991.
Allen was a retired minister of Pomona Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug Allen of Fort Worth, Texas, Charles Allen of Dongola; six daughters, Sue Dixon of Herrin, Ruth Allen and Elizabeth Glasford of Anna, Shirley Myers of Fairfield, Patricia Dunston of Tamms, Diana Cargill of Dongola; three sisters, Marjorie Bittle of Cobden, Vivian Smith of Johnston City, Opal Swink of Anna; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Mission Chapel Cemetery.
