REV. HERBERT F. VANDENBERG

PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. Herbert F. Vandenberg, 82, of Perryville, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at St. Mary's Seminary. He was born Sept. 9, 1909, at Racine, Wis., son of Theodore and Martha Bleidorn Vandenberg. Vandenberg was ordained June 15, 1935, at St. Mary's. From 1935-49 he served in China, and then in Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Texas, and 20 years in Taiwan. He retired in 1980 and came to the seminary here...

PERRYVILLE -- The Rev. Herbert F. Vandenberg, 82, of Perryville, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at St. Mary's Seminary.

He was born Sept. 9, 1909, at Racine, Wis., son of Theodore and Martha Bleidorn Vandenberg.

Vandenberg was ordained June 15, 1935, at St. Mary's. From 1935-49 he served in China, and then in Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Texas, and 20 years in Taiwan. He retired in 1980 and came to the seminary here.

Survivors include a brother, Joseph Vandenberg of Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's of the Barrens. The Rev. John Gagnepain will officiate, with burial in Vincentian Community Cemetery.

Friends may call at St. Mary's of the Barrens from 5-9 p.m. today. The wake will be at 7:30.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
