JACKSON -- The Rev. David William Rice, 79, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, in Jackson.
He was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Vevay, Ind., son of David Luther and Gladys Irene Casey Rice.
Rice was a United Methodist minister, and member of a Masonic lodge. He was formerly of Portageville.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, John Rice of Jackson, William Rice Jr. of Bernie; five brothers, Roy Rice of Granby, Paul Rice of Lima, Ohio, Floyd Rice of San Diego, Calif., Carl Rice of Dexter, Marlin Rice of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Hazel Fulmer of Houston, Texas, Linda Guthrie of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville after 5 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
