PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Rev. Charles D. Saunders, 101, of Perryville died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville. He was born Aug. 11, 1904, in Cumberland, Iowa, son of John and Molly Dolan Saunders. He attended St. Vincent's College in Cape Girardeau and St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville. He served in Los Angeles, New Orleans, LaSalle, Ill., Chicago, St. Louis, Lemont, Ill., and Perryville before retiring in 1968...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Rev. Charles D. Saunders, 101, of Perryville died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville.

He was born Aug. 11, 1904, in Cumberland, Iowa, son of John and Molly Dolan Saunders.

He attended St. Vincent's College in Cape Girardeau and St. Mary's Seminary in Perryville. He served in Los Angeles, New Orleans, LaSalle, Ill., Chicago, St. Louis, Lemont, Ill., and Perryville before retiring in 1968.

Survivors include two sisters, Corita Saunders of Atlantic, Iowa, and Sister Mary Kathleen Saunders of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's of the Barrens Church in Perryville. Visitation will continue Tuesday until service time.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Vincentian Community Cemetery.

Miller Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
