MORLEY -- Rev. Bill Keefer, 59, of Johnson City, Ill. and formerly of Morley, died Saturday Dec. 24, 1994 at Southeast Hospital. He was born March 1, 1935 in Morley, the son of Fred and Carrie Griffith Keefer. He was a member of the Morley Church of God and a graduate of Morley High School. MORLEY -- Rev. Bill Keefer, 59, of Johnson City, Ill. and formerly of Morley, died Saturday Dec. 24, 1994 at Southeast Hospital.

He was born March 1, 1935 in Morley, the son of Fred and Carrie Griffith Keefer.

He was a member of the Morley Church of God and a graduate of Morley High School. He had been an officer with the Sikeston Police Department and a trooper with the Missouri State Highway patrol. In addition he had worked for several loan companies in Sikeston.

Since 1970, he had been a fulltime Church of God minister, serving churches in Southern Illinois, Florida, Texas and Ohio.

On May 25, 1965 he married Yvonne Wit Pery, who survives.

Other survivors include: four sons, Billy W. Keefer and Brent Keefer, both of Sikeston, David Keefer of Murray, Ky., and Darren Keefer of Marion, Ill.; two step-daughters, Vanessa Pery of Steele, and Cindy Brown of Hayti; two brothers, Cline Keefer of St. Louis, and Merl Keefer of Sikeston; two sisters, Cletha Triplett and Jeannie Williams, both of Morley; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the Morley Church of God in Morley.

Services will be held at the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Dr. Bob Wagner, pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Marion officiating. He will be assisted by two nephews: Rev. Richard Triplett and Rev. Bill Pentecost.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
