JACKSON, Mo. -- Funeral for Reuben Edward Amelunke of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Richard Northcutt will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Amelunke, 52, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin Max and Esther Lena Sievers Amelunke.
Amelunke worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Enid, Okla. He moved back to Jackson in 1983 and farmed. He attended New McKendree United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a son, Brian Amelunke of Mesquite, Texas; a brother, Lester Amelunke of Jackson; two sisters, Rachel Kostedt of High Ridge, Mo., and Debra McDonald of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
