Renee A. Pickett, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Nov. 24, 1955, in Chicago, to Chester and Ida Lento Ogle. She and Brad Pickett were married Aug. 7, 1982, in San Antonio.

Renee was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

She served her country in the U.S. Air Force and the Army Reserve.

Renee had worked with United Airlines and had been a licensed practical nurse before retiring because of illness. Renee enjoyed being around people, especially her family and friends. Those close to her knew she was never afraid to speak her mind.

Survivors include her husband, Brad Pickett of Cape Girardeau; father, Chester Ogle of Georgia; mother, Ida Ogle of Glendale Heights, Illinois; three daughters, Rachel (Ryan) Plauck of Hampshire, Illinois, Anna (Gary Umphlett Jr.) Pickett of Cape Girardeau and Audrey (Shon) Gockel of Jackson; a sister, Denise (Benny) DiVito of Bloomingdale, Illinois; three grandchildren, Lucas Plauck, Dylan Umphlett and Sophia Gockel; a special niece, Christina DiVito of Bloomingdale; two brothers-in-law, Charles Pickett of Cape Girardeau and Roger (Debbie) Pickett of Santa Clara, California; and a sister-in-law, Susan O'Connell of Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association or to the American Lupus Foundation.
